Approximately 100 school vehicles deemed unfit in Vellore and surrounding districts

On Friday, Collector K. Tharpagaraj conducted an inspection of the fitness verification process for school vehicles at the Police Quarters playground in Tiruvannamalai town. Accompanying him during the inspection was Muniraj, the Chief Educational Officer (CEO) of Tiruvannamalai.

This inspection is part of a broader initiative to ensure the safety and compliance of transportation for students in the region. It reflects the governments commitment to maintaining high safety standards for school transportation. The fitness verification process is crucial in assessing whether the vehicles meet regulatory requirements regarding safety, maintenance, and operational efficiency.

In recent months, there has been increased scrutiny regarding the condition of school vehicles, prompted by safety concerns raised by parents and educational authorities. The Collectors proactive approach aims to address these concerns and enhance the overall safety of school transport in the area. Further inspections and compliance checks are expected to follow as part of this ongoing initiative.
