APSPDCL Achieves Milestone with Over 100,000 Rooftop Solar Connections for SC/ST Households

The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has reached a significant milestone by establishing over 100,000 rooftop solar connections for households belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions and enhancing energy access for marginalized communities.

The initiative, which forms part of a broader strategy to increase renewable energy adoption, not only helps in reducing electricity bills for families but also contributes to environmental conservation. By harnessing solar power, these households can generate clean energy, offsetting reliance on conventional energy sources and reducing their carbon footprint.

APSPDCL has been actively working to facilitate these solar connections through various schemes that provide financial incentives and support to eligible households. This has encouraged many families in rural and semi-urban areas to invest in solar technology, leading to increased awareness and acceptance of renewable energy across the region.

Officials from APSPDCL have expressed their satisfaction with this achievement, noting that it reflects the growing interest in solar energy among marginalized communities. They also emphasized the importance of continued efforts to promote energy equity and sustainability, ensuring that all sections of society can benefit from the shift toward renewable resources.

The success of this initiative may pave the way for further projects that aim to increase solar penetration in the region, ultimately contributing to the states energy goals and environmental commitments.
