Archaeological Survey Unearths 25 Rare Inscriptions in Markapuram District, Andhra Pradesh

An Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team has successfully completed the estampage process for 25 historical inscriptions, which date from the 2nd century to the 15th century. The team is now engaged in the digitization of these inscriptions, which are inscribed in various languages, to facilitate broader access and preservation of this significant cultural heritage.

The inscriptions, which offer valuable insights into the history, culture, and languages of their respective periods, are being digitized to enhance their visibility and provide resources for researchers and historians. This initiative is part of ASIs ongoing efforts to protect and document Indias vast archaeological heritage, particularly as many inscriptions are vulnerable to environmental factors and human activities.

By digitizing these inscriptions, ASI aims to create a comprehensive database that can be accessed by scholars, students, and the general public, thereby promoting awareness and appreciation of Indias rich historical narrative.
