Ashwini Vaishnaw Provides Update on Bullet Train Project Progress

The construction of Indias first bullet train segment is advancing rapidly in the regions of Thane and Palghar. Over 100 kilometers of pier work is currently being executed, with numerous piers prepared for the installation of girders. This elevated railway line is set to include three elevated stations, designed to enhance accessibility and efficiency in rail transport.

Furthermore, several mountain tunnels have successfully reached breakthrough, indicating significant progress in the challenging topographical areas along the route. The ongoing construction of substantial bridges further underscores the Indian governments commitment to modernizing the country’s railway infrastructure.

This ambitious project is part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two major cities, promoting economic growth and regional connectivity. Once completed, the bullet train is projected to operate at speeds of up to 320 km/h, making it one of the fastest rail services in India and aiming to set new standards in safety and efficiency in the railway sector.
