Avalanche finalize four-year contract extension for coach Jared Bednar through the 2030-31 season.

The Colorado Avalanche announced on Wednesday that they have signed head coach Jared Bednar to a four-year contract extension. Bednar, who has achieved the most wins in franchise history as head coach, has led the team to significant success, including the Stanley Cup championship in 2022.

Since taking over the head coach position in August 2016, Bednar has transformed the Avalanche into a competitive force in the NHL. Under his leadership, the team has made multiple playoff appearances and consistently ranks as one of the leagues top teams. The extension underscores the franchises commitment to Bednar and their confidence in his ability to continue building a winning culture.

The Avalanche remain a strong contender in the Western Conference, thanks to a roster featuring star players such as Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar. With this new contract, Bednar will look to capitalize on the teams recent successes and strive for further accolades in the seasons to come.
