Bastar Village Receives Long-Awaited Tap Water Supply

Narayanpur District Collector Namrata Jain announced the establishment of a water supply system in the village as part of the governments Jal Jeevan Mission. This initiative aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water to rural households across India.

The Jal Jeevan Mission, launched in August 2019, is designed to ensure that every rural household has access to functional tap water connections by 2024. The program emphasizes the importance of sustainable water supply and effective management of local water resources.

The newly implemented water supply system in Narayanpur is expected to improve public health and sanitation in the area, reducing the time spent by villagers, particularly women and children, in collecting water from distant sources. Furthermore, the project aligns with the governments broader goals of improving infrastructure and quality of life in rural communities.

Collector Jain indicated that local authorities will continue to monitor the water supply system to ensure its sustainability and encourage community participation in its management.
