Bihar Government Schools to Implement Half-Day Saturday Classes Starting August 8
The Bihar Education Department has announced the reinstatement of half-day classes on Saturdays for all government schools, effective August 8, 2023. This decision marks a return to the previous scheduling practice aimed at accommodating the educational needs of students.
Under the new timetable, schools will operate from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, classes will conclude earlier, at 1:00 PM. Additionally, the revised schedule includes specific dispersal timings for primary and senior students to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the school day.
This change is part of the governments broader efforts to enhance the quality of education and manage the academic workload for students in the state. The Education Department has indicated that further adjustments may be made in the future, depending on feedback from educators and parents. This development follows a trend in various states aimed at improving student engagement and overall educational outcomes.
