BIS Conducts Awareness Session for Footwear Manufacturers
A recent program was conducted to enhance awareness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and stakeholders in the footwear and leather sector about Indian Standards and Quality Control Orders.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that businesses in these industries align with national quality benchmarks and regulations, which are essential for maintaining product standards and consumer safety. The program included workshops, expert presentations, and interactive sessions aimed at educating participants on the guidelines set forth by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and various Quality Control Orders applicable to footwear and leather production.
Such initiatives are crucial as MSMEs play a significant role in India’s economy, contributing to employment and production. The dissemination of knowledge regarding compliance with these standards aims to enhance the overall quality of products available in the market, thereby facilitating better competitiveness both domestically and internationally.
Participants were encouraged to engage in discussions on best practices, regulatory compliance, and the importance of quality assurance in sustaining market presence. The program is seen as a proactive measure to support the MSME sector in navigating the complexities of regulations while fostering growth and innovation.
