BJP Appeals to Karnataka Chief Minister for Drought Declaration and Urgent Relief Efforts in Affected Taluks
R. Ashok, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, has reported that approximately 150 taluks across the state are currently experiencing drought conditions due to insufficient rainfall during the southwest monsoon season.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), this years monsoon has been marked by a significant decrease in expected precipitation, which has adversely impacted agricultural yields and water availability in affected regions. The government has been urged to take immediate measures to address the situation, including the implementation of relief programs for farmers struggling with the adverse effects of drought.
As the conditions worsen, local authorities are assessing the situation to determine the need for further intervention and support for communities reliant on agriculture.
