BMRCL Requests Approval for Removal of 3,627 Trees Along Proposed Orange Line Metro Route
The trees in question are situated along the planned 12.5-kilometer elevated metro corridor, referred to as the Orange Line. This line will connect Hosahalli to Kadabagere as part of Package-04 within the ongoing Phase-3 development of Corridor-2 of the metropolitan transit system.
The Phase-3 expansion of the metro aims to enhance urban transportation in the region, facilitating improved connectivity for commuters. The Orange Line is one of several lines being developed to address the growing transportation demands of the city. As the project progresses, environmental considerations, including the impact on local greenery and ecosystems, are being evaluated in conjunction with the infrastructural advancements. Stakeholder discussions regarding compensatory afforestation and other sustainability measures are also underway.
