Bullet Train Update: Completion of Tunnelling Work for Five-Kilometer Tunnel

A 5-kilometer tunnel is currently under construction between Ghansoli and Shilphata as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. This ambitious initiative aims to create a 508-kilometer rail corridor connecting Gujarat, Maharashtra, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The MAHSR project, which is the first high-speed rail corridor in India, is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, making the journey in approximately two hours. The project is designed to facilitate faster commuter transportation, enhance connectivity, and promote economic development in the region.

With an estimated completion date set for the coming years, the project has garnered attention for its potential impact on both passenger travel and freight movement. The construction of the tunnel represents a critical phase in advancing this transformative rail network.
