Cabinet Approves Construction of 250,000 Houses with ₹587 Crore Allocation for PRLSI

The state government has announced its decision to participate in the Rejuvenating River Delta Systems (RDSS) initiative, aimed at sustainable management of river ecosystems. As part of this commitment, a preliminary fund of ₹300 crore has been allocated for the initial preparations related to the Godavari Pushkarams, a significant cultural event associated with river worship in the region.

Additionally, the funding will also support the implementation of mid-day meal programs across junior colleges, highlighting the governments dedication to enhancing education and nutrition for students. This initiative reflects the states broader objectives of improving educational outcomes while fostering cultural traditions.

The Godavari Pushkarams is expected to attract thousands of devotees, necessitating extensive arrangements including sanitation, safety, and accommodation. The RDSS program will further complement these efforts by focusing on the restoration and preservation of the Godavari Rivers ecosystem.
