Call for Government to Identify Remaining HIV Cases in Andhra Pradesh by December 1

The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) aims to enhance public health in India by transforming the country into Suraksha India, with a particular focus on controlling the spread of HIV. An official from NACO emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between state governments and Union Territories to effectively identify and support individuals living with HIV.

The initiative underscores the need for comprehensive strategies that include awareness campaigns, improved testing facilities, and access to antiretroviral treatment. According to recent statistics, approximately 2.3 million people in India are living with HIV, highlighting the urgency of targeted interventions. NACOs approach encourages the involvement of local health authorities and community organizations to ensure that prevention and treatment resources reach those in need, thereby reducing stigma and improving health outcomes across the country.
