CBSE Chairman and Secretary Resign Following OSM Controversy

The Central Government has appointed Lokhande Prashant Sitaram as the new Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), succeeding Rahul Singh, who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Agriculture. This transition comes amidst efforts to enhance the operational efficiency of the CBSE.

In addition to the leadership change, the Centre has also established a one-member committee responsible for investigating the procurement of services related to the CBSEs Online School Management (OSM) portal. This portal is designed to streamline administrative processes for educational institutions under the CBSE umbrella.

Lokhande Prashant Sitaram, known for his extensive experience in educational administration, will oversee initiatives aimed at improving academic standards and implementing digital advancements within the board. The one-member committees findings may lead to significant improvements in procurement practices and transparency related to the boards digital projects.

This move underscores the governments commitment to reforming educational management and ensuring efficiency within the CBSE system amidst growing demands for digital transformation in education.
