Census Enumerators Identification Can Be Verified via QR Code

Lalit Jain, the Director of Census Operations in Haryana, has addressed the apprehensions of residents living in high-rise apartment complexes who have expressed reluctance to permit census enumerators access to their buildings.

In his statement, Jain emphasized the importance of full participation in the census process, which is crucial for accurately capturing demographic data that influences government planning and resource allocation. He reassured residents that enumerators are equipped with proper identification and are trained to conduct the census respectfully and efficiently.

To facilitate cooperation, Jain encouraged residents to understand the significance of the census in shaping policies that impact local communities, such as housing, infrastructure, and public services. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to ensure the safety and privacy of residents during the enumeration process.

As the census is a nationwide initiative that occurs every ten years, it plays a vital role in informing local and national governance. The current census is particularly important in the context of post-pandemic recovery and development planning. Additional measures, including awareness campaigns, are being implemented to inform the public of the benefits of participating in this critical civic duty.
