Centre Refutes Claims of Bhutans Rejection of E20 Petrol Export Proposal
The Ministry of Petroleum has clarified that claims regarding Bhutans refusal to accept Indias E20 petrol are unfounded, as no formal offer had been presented to the country. This statement comes in response to opposition allegations suggesting that multiple neighboring nations have declined the adoption of E20 petrol.
E20 petrol, which contains a 20% ethanol blend, is part of Indias initiative to promote cleaner fuels and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The government emphasizes that E20 has undergone rigorous testing to confirm its reliability and performance. Furthermore, vehicle manufacturers are reportedly adjusting their products to comply with the new fuel standards, ensuring that vehicles are compatible with E20 petrol.
The push towards E20 is aligned with India’s broader goals of enhancing energy security and promoting sustainable practices in the automotive sector. As countries around the world continue to focus on reducing carbon emissions, the integration of biofuels like ethanol in mainstream fuel options is becoming increasingly significant.
