Chandrababu Naidu Critiques DMK and Congress on Womens Issues and National Concerns

In a recent statement, Mr. Naidu highlighted his long-standing advocacy for increased reservation for women, a cause he has championed for over 30 years. He drew attention to Prime Minister Modi’s intentions to implement a significant increase in reservation for women ahead of the 2029 elections. Mr. Naidu noted that the Prime Minister has proposed a 50% increase in reserved seats across all states in India. Emphasizing the anticipation among women for this change, Mr. Naidu expressed hope that this initiative would fulfill the aspirations of women who have been awaiting such reforms for a considerable time.

As discussions surrounding gender representation and reservation policies continue to evolve, this proposed increase could have a significant impact on womens participation in politics and legislative processes. Currently, women in India hold approximately 14% of seats in the Lok Sabha, which is well below the global average. Efforts to enhance women’s reservation have garnered support from various political factions, reflecting a growing recognition of the need for gender equity in governance.
