A new 1-gigawatt hyperscale AI data center is set to be constructed on a 601.4-acre site in Tarluvada, with an investment of ₹1.35 lakh crore (approximately $16.4 billion). This project ranks among the largest single foreign direct investment (FDI) initiatives in India. It is part of Googles broader commitment of $15 billion to enhance its operations and infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.
The data center is expected to bolster technological advancements in the region, creating numerous job opportunities and promoting economic growth. With the increasing demand for AI services and cloud computing solutions, this facility will play a significant role in supporting various sectors, including education, healthcare, and finance.
Additionally, this investment underscores the growing trend of global tech companies expanding their presence in India, which is becoming an important hub for innovation and digital services. The initiative is anticipated to have a lasting impact on the local economy and drive further investments in the state.
