Chola-Era Anaimangalam Plates Returned to India from Leiden University After Over 160 Years

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will receive the recently acquired artifacts during a formal handover ceremony in New Delhi. Operating under the auspices of the Union Ministry of Culture, the ASI is responsible for the preservation and promotion of Indias archaeological heritage. Following the transfer of these objects, the ASI will assess their historical significance and determine the appropriate venues for potential public exhibition across the country. This decision-making process aligns with the ASIs mission to educate the public on Indias rich cultural history and to safeguard its archaeological sites and artifacts.
