Chola-Era Anaimangalam Plates Returned to India from Leiden University After Over a Century

The archaeological plates are set to be officially transferred to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in New Delhi. The ASI, which operates under the auspices of the Union Ministry of Culture, will be responsible for determining the exhibition status and placement of these artifacts within India.

The ASI is a premier organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Indias rich archaeological heritage. Once the plates are received, the ASI will assess their historical significance and decide on an appropriate venue for public display, which may include museums or exhibitions across the country. This decision will take into account both the educational value of the artifacts and their significance to Indias cultural identity.
