CISCE Initiates Nationwide Fitness Assessment for Over 3.1 Million Students

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has introduced ACTIVE CISCE, a comprehensive physical health and fitness assessment program that will impact over 3.1 million students across 3,300 affiliated schools in India. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness in education.

ACTIVE CISCE will evaluate age-appropriate fitness parameters, and students will receive individual Fitness Report Cards that assess their health and well-being. The program not only aims to raise awareness about physical fitness among students but also seeks to develop national School Health and School Fitness indices. These indices will provide valuable data for evidence-based interventions, guiding policies and strategies to enhance student health and fitness outcomes in schools across the country.

This initiative is part of a broader movement to promote holistic education and well-rounded development among students. With increasing concerns regarding physical inactivity and lifestyle-related health issues among children, the ACTIVE CISCE program could play a pivotal role in encouraging healthier lifestyle choices among young individuals.
