Civil Aviation Ministry and DIAL Introduce Air Suvidha 2.0 Portal for Ebola Health Screening at Indias Entry Points
The recent launch comes in response to the World Health Organizations (WHO) classification of the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in the previous month.
This designation highlights the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need for coordinated international efforts to contain the outbreak and mitigate its impact. The DRC has experienced recurrent outbreaks of Ebola in the past, and Uganda has historically dealt with similar viral challenges. The WHOs declaration aims to mobilize resources and support for affected regions, facilitate research into vaccines and treatments, and improve public health readiness.
As part of the response, health officials and global health organizations are expected to increase surveillance, public health education, and vaccination programs within the affected areas. Both nations are collaborating with international partners to address healthcare infrastructure challenges and the socioeconomic factors that contribute to the spread of such infectious diseases.
