CM launches gold ring scheme for newborns across Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Launches Gold Ring Scheme for Newborns
In a significant initiative aimed at supporting new parents, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, has launched the “Gold Ring Scheme” for newborns in the state. This program is designed to provide a gold ring, weighing 4 grams, to each newborn child, which is intended to help families manage the financial responsibilities associated with a childs birth.
The scheme is particularly targeted at families belonging to economically weaker sections, with the goal of promoting welfare and reducing financial stress during the early years of child-rearing. During the launch event, CM Stalin emphasized the importance of supporting families and ensuring that every child has a fair start in life.
Eligible families can apply for this initiative at local government offices, and the delivery of the gold rings is expected to be coupled with other welfare measures, including health and nutrition support for mothers and children.
This program draws on similar initiatives previously implemented in various states of India, where the focus has been on enhancing child welfare and supporting low-income families. The Tamil Nadu government aims to encourage higher birth registration rates and ensure that children receive the necessary health and educational support from the onset of their lives.
The launch of the Gold Ring Scheme is expected to enhance the social safety net for families and contribute to the overall improvement of child health and education in the state.
