Commercial LPG Cylinder and Aviation Turbine Fuel Prices Decline Amid Easing West Asia Conflict

On July 1, 2026, public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced a reduction in the prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, marking a significant development in the ongoing LPG supply situation. Commercial LPG cylinder prices were decreased by ₹183.5, while the price of 5 kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders saw a reduction of ₹13.

This decision comes in the context of a potential resolution to the four-month conflict in West Asia, which has significantly impacted global energy supply chains. Prior to this announcement, commercial LPG cylinder prices had experienced a cumulative increase of ₹1,345 per refill, implemented in four separate hikes since March 7, 2026.

The recent price cuts may reflect improved supply dynamics, as the resolution of the conflict could help stabilize the market and facilitate more consistent deliveries of LPG to consumers in India. The government and OMCs are monitoring the international energy landscape closely, as further fluctuations in global oil prices could influence future adjustments in domestic LPG rates.

As a reminder, LPG is widely used across India for cooking and heating purposes, making price fluctuations of significant concern for households and businesses alike.
