Congress Claims Amit Shah Orchestrated Trinamool Division and Merger Attempt
Jairam Ramesh, a senior leader from the Indian National Congress party, has expressed concerns regarding recent political maneuvers by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He alleges that these actions are strategically aimed at securing a two-thirds majority for the NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Rameshs comments come amid a landscape of intense political activity, as the NDA seeks to solidify its position ahead of the elections scheduled for 2024. Currently, the NDA, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is working to bolster its alliances and electoral strategies to enhance its parliamentary strength.
A two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha would allow the NDA greater legislative power and the ability to pass key constitutional amendments without the need for support from opposition parties. The Congress party, being one of the main challengers to the NDA, is likely to intensify its campaign efforts in response to these developments as the election date approaches.
