CPI(M) Criticizes NDA Government for Inaction on Poll Promises to Srikakulam Farmers

Leaders of a regional political party have called for an allocation of ₹1,700 crore for the construction of the Gotta barrage, citing its potential benefits for irrigation and water management in the area. The proposed barrage is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and support local communities by providing a more reliable water supply.

Additionally, these leaders expressed strong opposition to the planned development of a cargo airport in Uddanam. They argue that the project could lead to environmental concerns and displacement of local residents while failing to adequately address the needs of the community. The leaders are advocating for a comprehensive impact assessment to evaluate the potential repercussions of the airport project on the region’s ecology and livelihoods.

As discussions continue, the leaders emphasize the importance of prioritizing local development projects that directly benefit the community and ensure sustainable growth.
