Cyclone Preparedness Increased Across 12 Districts

The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) has intensified its preparations in anticipation of potential cyclone activity across 12 districts. The organization is proactively taking measures to ensure the safety and reliability of power supply in the region, prioritizing customer safety as the cyclone season approaches.

To enhance its readiness, APEPDCL has established a comprehensive response plan that includes preemptive power line inspections, tree trimming, and the establishment of emergency response teams. These teams comprise engineers and field staff who will be deployed to various sites to address any disruptions caused by severe weather conditions.

The districts involved in this extensive preparedness effort include Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, and Ananthapuramu. The focus is on minimizing the impact of potential cyclones on the electric infrastructure and ensuring quick restoration of services if outages occur.

Additionally, APEPDCL is urging residents to prepare for adverse weather, advising them to following safety guidelines and remain alert to any announcements made by local authorities. The government has also been coordinating with Meteorological departments to monitor weather developments closely.

As part of their community outreach, APEPDCL plans to disseminate information about safety practices during cyclones, which include securing loose objects outside homes and having emergency kits ready. This holistic approach aims to minimize risk and enhance the resilience of the power distribution network while ensuring public safety during the cyclone season.
