Day 3 of Strike: BEST to Provide 180 Special Bus Services for NEET Re-Exam Candidates

A strike initiated by the BEST Sanyukt Kamgar Kruti Samiti has significantly disrupted the operations of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) system, which is managed by the Mumbai civic body. Since the strike began on June 19, the bus transport system has been largely immobilized, leaving passengers with limited options for their daily travel.

The labor action appears to stem from ongoing negotiations related to employee wages, working conditions, and other labor-related issues. As a result of the strike, many commuters have had to rely on alternative modes of transportation, such as private vehicles, rickshaws, and ride-sharing services, to reach their destinations.

Authorities and union representatives have yet to reach a resolution, and discussions surrounding the demands of the striking workers are ongoing. The impact of the strike on daily commuters has raised concerns about transportation accessibility in one of India’s busiest metropolitan areas.
