Diplomatic Community Participates in International Yoga Day Celebrations

The 12th International Day of Yoga was observed this year with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” This initiative, celebrated annually on June 21st, underscores the significance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for individuals of all age groups. The theme reflects a growing recognition of yogas benefits in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being as people age.

The United Nations General Assembly established the International Day of Yoga in 2014, highlighting yogas holistic approach to health and wellness. Events and activities were held globally to raise awareness about the positive effects of yoga on health, particularly its role in fostering resilience among the elderly and enhancing their quality of life.

Various organizations, communities, and yoga studios organized workshops, demonstrations, and educational sessions to encourage participation and inform individuals about techniques that are effective for healthy ageing.
