Discussions on Capital Infusion to Expand MG Capacity Underway

MG Motor has introduced the Tomahawk, marking its debut multi-powertrain sports utility vehicle (SUV) built on the innovative ADAPT platform. This model is poised to drive the company’s C-SUV strategy over the next seven to eight years. Alongside the Tomahawk, the Windsor model will serve as a foundation for the SUV-B segment.

Both the Tomahawk and Windsor are part of MG Motor’s ambitious target to achieve 70% localisation in production by 2027, with plans to increase local sourcing by 2 to 3 percentage points each month. This strategy aims to bolster the company’s commitment to regional manufacturing and supply chain efficiency.

When questioned about whether the recent infusion of additional funding from shareholders would impact their ownership stakes in MG Motor, CEO Jindal refrained from providing specific details. This development reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the company’s financial position as it navigates an evolving automotive landscape.

As MG Motor continues to innovate and expand its product offerings, the introduction of the Tomahawk signifies its commitment to meeting market demands and enhancing its competitive edge in the SUV segment.
