Pearl Monroe, a childhood leukemia survivor, drew strength and solace from the music of Dolly Parton and the books provided by Partons Imagination Library during her battle with the disease. Years later, Monroe had the opportunity to meet Parton at Dollywood, where she expressed her gratitude personally.
