Enhancing Vacation Experiences for Students with Disabilities

Resource teachers from the Kilimanoor Block Resource Centre (BRC) in Thiruvananthapuram, part of Samagra Shiksha Kerala, have launched an initiative called “Veettukkoottam” aimed at supporting differently-abled students.

This program is designed to create a more inclusive learning environment and facilitate tailored educational opportunities for students with varying needs. “Veettukkoottam” will incorporate specialized teaching methods, and resources to cater to the unique challenges faced by these students.

Samagra Shiksha Kerala is a holistic education program that aims at providing equitable quality education for all children in the state, with a special emphasis on addressing the needs of differently-abled individuals. The initiative underscores the commitment to fostering an inclusive educational framework where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

As part of this program, parents and caregivers will also be engaged to ensure a supportive home environment that complements the students learning experiences. The Kilimanoor BRC is actively collaborating with local stakeholders to enhance the resources and opportunities available to these students, promoting an inclusive approach to education throughout the region.
