Farmers Connect with New Buyers at Nabards Mango Festival
At the recent Mambazha Mela, a collaborative initiative aimed at uniting 16 farmer-producer organizations specializing in mango cultivation and processing, all participating vendors successfully sold their entire stock of mango products.
The Mambazha Mela serves not only as a marketplace for high-quality mangoes but also as a platform to promote sustainable agriculture and support local farmers. The event highlights the importance of farmer cooperatives in enhancing the livelihoods of agricultural communities while also encouraging the consumption of locally sourced produce.
In addition to fresh mangoes, attendees had the opportunity to purchase a variety of processed mango products, including jams, pickles, and dried mango snacks, showcasing the versatility of the fruit. The success of the Mela reflects the growing consumer interest in organic and locally produced food items, as well as the effectiveness of collective marketing efforts among small-scale farmers.
