Former Zilla Panchayat Member Advocates for Adequate Fertilizer Supply for Farmers in Yadgir District

Former Zilla Panchayat member Devraj Naik has called on the Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (GESCOM) to guarantee a reliable power supply to agricultural pump sets for a minimum of seven hours each day. Naik emphasized the importance of uninterrupted electricity for farmers who rely on these pump sets for irrigation, especially in light of ongoing agricultural demands.

As irrigation is a critical factor in sustaining crop productivity, Naiks request reflects concerns raised by local farmers regarding intermittent power supply issues, which can adversely affect their farming activities. He underscored that consistent electricity access is vital not only for ensuring the growth of crops but also for the livelihood and economic stability of the farming community.

GESCOM, responsible for supplying electricity to the Gulbarga region, has faced challenges in meeting the power demands of the agricultural sector due to various factors, including infrastructure limitations and peak load management. In response to these challenges, there have been discussions about potential initiatives to improve power delivery to rural areas, which are essential for enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting the local economy.

Naik’s statement highlights the ongoing dialogue between community leaders and utility providers, aiming to reach solutions that support the needs of farmers in the region.
