Gatherings Prohibited Near NEET Exam Centers in Cyberabad on June 21; Local Photocopy Shops to Close
On June 19, Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh announced a restriction on public gatherings in the vicinity of NEET examination centres. In a notification referencing Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), the Commissioner prohibited the assembly of five or more individuals within a 200-metre radius of these locations.
This decision aims to ensure the smooth conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which is crucial for students seeking admission to medical colleges in India. The measures are part of broader efforts to maintain order and security during the examination period, which is typically accompanied by heightened activity around exam centres.
The NEET exam is conducted annually, and the enforcement of such regulations is not uncommon, as authorities seek to prevent potential disturbances and ensure a conducive environment for candidates. The Cyberabad Police have urged the public to comply with this order and remain aware of the regulations in place during the examination days.
