Global Congestion Indices Increase from 20% to 25%, Reports CAG
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is undertaking a comprehensive audit of 101 cities across the country to evaluate the “Ease of Living” from the perspective of residents. This audit will focus on various critical factors, including quality of life, access to services, sustainability practices, and public perception.
This initiative is aimed at providing insights into urban living conditions and identifying areas for improvement. The assessment will consider multiple dimensions, such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, safety, and public transport, to gauge how effectively cities are meeting the needs of their inhabitants.
The findings from this audit may play a significant role in shaping future urban policy and planning, as well as helping local governments to enhance the livability of their cities. This audit aligns with the Indian governments ongoing efforts to promote smart city initiatives and improve urban management systems, ultimately striving for more sustainable and citizen-friendly urban environments. The CAG is expected to release its findings in the coming months, providing a vital resource for policymakers and city planners.
