Goods Exports Increase Over 15%, Exceed $200 Billion

According to recent estimates from a senior official who requested anonymity, exports during the third week of August surpassed $25 billion. This marks a significant achievement for the nation, as the Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, has outlined an ambitious goal of reaching $1 trillion in goods and services exports for the first time.

The surge in exports is largely attributed to the performance of the petroleum products sector, which has been a key contributor to the overall growth in trade. Furthermore, the government has been promoting various initiatives to enhance export capabilities, including improving logistics infrastructure and facilitating trade agreements. As global markets recover, stakeholders are optimistic about achieving this milestone in the near future.
