Government Approves One-Time Interest-Free Loan of Rs 50,000 per Barn for FCV Tobacco Growers in Andhra Pradesh

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a one-time interest-free loan of Rs 50,000 for each barn registered to grow flue-cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco. This initiative is aimed at providing financial support to tobacco farmers in the state as they face various challenges, including fluctuating market prices and adverse weather conditions.

The program is designed to assist approximately 70,000 tobacco growers across the region, ensuring that they have access to vital funds for their farming needs without the burden of interest payments. This financial assistance is expected to help stabilize their income and promote the sustainability of the FCV tobacco cultivation industry, which plays a significant role in the local economy.
