Government Plans to Procure 2.3 Million Metric Tons of Rabi Paddy in Andhra Pradesh Starting April 4

The Civil Supplies Minister, Nadendla Manohar, announced that paddy will be procured through a network of 1,917 dedicated procurement centres across the region. The initiative is designed to streamline the procurement process and ensure prompt payments to farmers. According to Minister Manohar, farmers can expect to receive their payments within 24 hours following the sale of their paddy.

This initiative is part of the governments ongoing efforts to support farmers and enhance agricultural productivity. The procurement centres aim to provide a transparent and efficient system for farmers to sell their produce, thereby reducing the time burdens that often accompany transactions in the agricultural sector. This strategy is expected to bolster the livelihoods of numerous farming families within the region, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their labor.
