Government Unveils Wage Rates for New Employment Scheme, Replacing MGNREGA
Government Introduces Viksit Bharat G RAM G Scheme to Replace MGNREGA
The Indian government has officially launched the Viksit Bharat G RAM G scheme, effective as of today. This new program replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which has been in place for years, aimed at providing rural employment and supporting the livelihoods of individuals in India.
The Viksit Bharat G RAM G scheme is designed to expand rural employment opportunities, offering guaranteed workdays to beneficiaries. Under this new initiative, the employment guarantee has been increased to 125 days per year, enhancing the support available to rural families. This aligns with the governments focus on sustainable development and poverty alleviation in rural areas.
In addition to the expanded workdays, revised wage rates have also been announced under the RAM-G Act, which aims to provide fair compensation for the labor provided by rural workers. The government believes this comprehensive rollout will improve job security and economic conditions for many working in agriculture and other rural sectors.
State governments are expected to implement the scheme effectively, adapting to local needs while ensuring that the expanded provisions reach the intended beneficiaries. The introduction of Viksit Bharat G RAM G is part of a broader agenda to boost rural infrastructure and empower communities across India.
This transition may signal significant changes in how rural employment schemes operate, with a focus on sustainability and modernization to meet the challenges of current economic conditions.
