Gujarat Experiences 3.1 Magnitude Earthquake, Its Second in Six Days

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Amreli district in Gujarat on March 29, 2026, marking the second seismic event in the Saurashtra region within a week. The tremor was recorded at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), this recent earthquake follows a 3.3 magnitude quake that occurred in the same region just six days prior. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties associated with either tremor.
Seismologists note that the Saurashtra region, which is prone to seismic activity due to its geological features, experiences occasional earthquakes, although most are of low intensity. Authorities are monitoring the situation and advising residents to remain vigilant. The IMD continues to study seismic patterns in the area to provide timely alerts and enhance disaster preparedness.
