Habbey Teron Elected as Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly by Unanimous Vote

Mr. Teron has been elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the newly established Amri constituency. This constituency was created as a result of the delimitation exercise conducted in 2023, which aimed to redraw electoral boundaries in response to population changes and ensure fair representation. The delimitation process, a periodic exercise in many democracies, is intended to reflect demographic shifts and improve the electoral system.
