Heatwave Alert Issued for Nandyal and Kurnool Until May 26; Collectors Mandate Water and ORS Distribution at Public Locations

Authorities are advising individuals to limit outdoor activities during the peak afternoon sun to prevent heat-related illnesses. Residents are encouraged to schedule outdoor work for early morning hours before 9 a.m. or later in the evening after 5 p.m.

In response to rising temperatures, officials have been instructed to establish water kiosks in public areas, provide Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) supplies for hydration, and place containers of water for birds and stray animals. These measures aim to ensure public safety and address the welfare of local wildlife during the hotter months.

This initiative comes as part of a broader public health campaign to mitigate the impacts of extreme heat, which can lead to heat exhaustion and heatstroke. The community is being reminded to stay hydrated, wear appropriate clothing, and check on vulnerable individuals, particularly the elderly and children, during heatwaves.
