Heavy Rain Forecast for 16 Districts in Tamil Nadu, Evening Showers Expected in Chennai

Heavy Rain Expected Across 16 Districts in Tamil Nadu on Friday, Chennai Anticipates Evening Showers

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Friday, forecasting heavy rainfall across 16 districts in Tamil Nadu. Areas likely to be affected by significant rain include Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and parts of the coastal regions. These districts may experience downpours that could lead to localized flooding and disruptions.

In Chennai, the capital city, residents can expect light to moderate showers in the evening, providing some respite from the citys humid conditions. The forecast is a result of a trough of low pressure developing over the region, which is influencing monsoonal patterns.

Authorities have advised residents to stay updated on weather conditions and to exercise caution, particularly when traveling or engaging in outdoor activities. Precautionary measures are recommended, especially in low-lying areas that are prone to waterlogging.

Further updates from the IMD are expected as the situation develops, and residents are encouraged to heed any advisories issued by local weather services.
