Hyderabad Bids Farewell to Khairatabad Bada Ganesh

Hyderabad, India – The city of Hyderabad has concluded its annual Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with the immersion of the iconic Khairatabad Bada Ganesh idol. This year marks the 66th edition of the celebration, drawing significant crowds to witness the ceremonial immersion held in the Hussain Sagar Lake.

The Khairatabad Bada Ganesh statue, famed for its height and grandeur, was erected at a height of 61 feet and has become a symbol of devotion during the Ganesh festival. Thousands of devotees gathered over the past week to pay their respects and participate in the prayers and festivities leading up to the idol’s immersion.

Local authorities ensured extensive security measures and traffic management during the event to accommodate the large turnout, which was estimated in the hundreds of thousands. This tradition is part of the larger Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesh, the deity of wisdom and prosperity.

The immersion ceremony included cultural performances and a vibrant procession featuring bands and traditional dancers, creating a festive atmosphere.
