Hyderabad Metro Rail Divestment Provides Capital Opportunities for Core Engineering and Technology-Focused Businesses, Says L&T Chairman

Hyderabad Metro is recognized as one of the largest Public-Private Partnership (PPP) metro rail projects globally. Launched in 2015, the project aims to enhance urban transportation in Hyderabad, catering to the citys rapidly growing population.

The metro system spans over 69 kilometers and features three operational corridors, significantly reducing travel time across key areas. The project is developed by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) in collaboration with private entities, exemplifying a successful model of public-private investment in infrastructure.

In addition to improving connectivity, the metro aims to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, and promote the use of public transport among residents. As Hyderabad continues to expand, the metro system is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating sustainable urban development and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
