India Approves First Dengue Vaccine for Individuals Aged 4 to 60

India has officially approved its first dengue vaccine, Qdenga, for use in individuals aged 4 to 60 years. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) granted marketing authorization to this recombinant live attenuated vaccine developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company.

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection prevalent in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, including India, where it poses a significant public health challenge.
