India May Introduce Third Nuclear Submarine, INS Aridhaman, According to Rajnath Singh

**Indias Naval Capabilities Expand with the INS Aridhaman Nuclear Submarine**
India is set to enhance its naval deterrence with the anticipated launch of the INS Aridhaman, which could be the countrys third nuclear submarine. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hinted at this development during a recent event, stating that the submarines introduction would significantly bolster India’s sea-based nuclear capabilities.
The INS Aridhaman, an indigenous vessel, is part of India’s initiative to strengthen its maritime defense strategy amid rising regional tensions. The vessel is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring strategic stability in the Indian Ocean Region, where India faces challenges from various naval forces.
This submarine is a part of Indias Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) project, which aims to develop a fleet of nuclear submarines. India currently operates two other operational nuclear submarines—INS Arihant and INS Arighat. The addition of INS Aridhaman is intended to enhance Indias second-strike capabilities, which are vital for a credible minimum deterrent.
As India continues to modernize its naval assets, the successful launch of the INS Aridhaman would mark a significant achievement in the country’s defense capabilities and exemplify its commitment to indigenization in defense production.
