Indian Army Wraps Up Multinational Exercise Khaan Quest 2026 in Mongolia
The 23rd edition of a multinational military exercise, focused on enhancing cooperation and operational readiness for United Nations peace support missions, was conducted from June 20 to July 3 at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This year’s event saw participation from over 1,000 military personnel representing 18 countries.
The exercises aimed to improve interoperability among participating forces, strengthen coordination efforts, and prepare participants for the complexities of peacekeeping operations outlined in Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter. These missions often involve the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security in regions affected by conflict.
Participating nations included a mix of contributors to UN peacekeeping efforts, reflecting a collaborative approach to global security challenges. This exercise not only provided practical training scenarios but also facilitated diplomatic ties among military leaders, promoting a shared understanding of peacekeeping practices and methodologies. The Five Hills Training Area offered a diverse environment for both tactical simulations and cooperative learning, further enhancing the effectiveness of the training outcomes.
