Indian Navy Thwarts Piracy Attempt in Gulf of Aden; Three Ships Still Held, IMO Issues Warning

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Trikand successfully intercepted and secured the bulk carrier Golden Arsenal, which was en route to Thoothukudi. This operation underscores the Indian Navys commitment to ensuring maritime security and safe navigation in international waters.

In related developments, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has reported that three other vessels remain in the hands of pirates. The situation is particularly critical aboard one of these ships, which has an Indian crew member among its ranks. Currently, five Indian nationals are confirmed to be part of the crews on two of the three ships still held by pirates.

Efforts are ongoing to address piracy in affected regions, with naval forces from various countries cooperating to enhance maritime security. The safety of crew members remains a top priority, and international maritime agencies continue to work on strategies to combat piracy effectively.
